DonateOur Bible Society for Afghanistan was founded in prayer. We would love you to join us in praying for God's work in Afghanistan, of which we are honoured to be a part.
While the precise nature of our activities, duties and commitments may vary from week to week, there are some things we would love to see consistently covered in prayer:
For as in one body we have many members, and the members do not all have the same function, so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually members one of another.
Romans 12:4-5
That God would direct our paths as we seek to share His Word with the different language groups of Afghanistan, and that these activities would be well supported and fully funded. We hope that the seed we sow together will reach far, impact widely, and produce good fruit in the lives of Afghans, both inside and outside the country.
But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
Luke 8:15
Above all, we want our endeavours to bring honour and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ.
You are the light of the world — like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.
Matthew 5:14-16
That they would be hungry for the Word of God — that they would search, and find.
You will seek Me and find Me when you seek Me with all your heart.
Jeremiah 29:13
Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.
Matthew 7:7
That Jesus would continue to build His church among the peoples of Afghanistan — that Afghan churches would grow in the diaspora in a spirit of unity, and that believers who gather together inside Afghanistan would be kept safe and remain faithful.
I will build my church, and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
Matthew 16:18
When you pray the Lord's Prayer, please remember your Afghan brothers and sisters in Christ:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
